Q: Is Navzilla WAAS compatible?

A: Navzilla is compatible with WAAS enabled GPS receivers capable of streaming NMEA data at 4800 baud.

Q: Are data files available for Canada or Europe?

A: At this time Navzilla data files are only available for the United States.

Q: How do subscriptions work?

A: A current subscription allows you to download the latest version of Navzilla software. You may also download the most current data files. Navzilla data files are updated every 56 days.

Q: Will Navzilla continue to work after my subscription expires?

A: Yes, Navzilla will continue to function. Keeping your subscription active allows you to download the latest version of Navzilla and current data files.

Q: Can I install Navzilla on my PDA and on my laptop?

A: Yes. You may install Navzilla on computers you own, to be used by you only. Some users keep a copy of Navzilla on their desktop or laptop to build routes and preview airspace around unfamiliar airports. Routes created on your desktop computer can be transfered to your PDA (or from your PDA to your desktop).

Q: Do you sell complete packages including PDA, GPS, cables and Navzilla software?

A: We are planning on offering a variety of packages in the future.

Q: How do I purchase a subscription?

A: To purchase a subscription you must be a registered user. Click here to register.

Q: What hardware is compatible with Navzilla? What's required?

A: Navzilla is designed to run on Compaq and HP iPAQ Pocket PCs running Windows Mobile 2003. Windows Mobile 2005 is not recommended. Please visit the product review page for more hardware information.

To use Navzilla with a GPS requires:
  • Navzilla software and data files installed on a PDA or computer
  • A GPS device that outputs NMEA data at 4800 baud (most can do this)
  • A cable to connect the PDA or computer to the GPS device if not a compact flash type of GPS.

Note, when operating in Demo mode, your PDA (or computer) does not have to be connected to a GPS device. Demo mode allows you to manually set the map location.

Q: Can I use the terrain option when in track-up mode?

A: At this time, the terrain option is only available when the map is in North-up mode.

Q: Will Navzilla run on a Palm Pilot?

A: Currently, Navzilla is not compatible with Palm Pilot devices. We are looking into ways of bringing Navzilla to the Palm platform.

Q: Do you offer airport diagrams or approach charts?

A: We do not. These and other documents in pdf format are available as free downloads for AOPA members from the AOPA web site.
